TESCO codes
By ordering your Tesco Shopping on-line and using the codes supplied you can easily earn over 2000 points per month, plus use a Tesco credit card for all of your daily shopping and earn even more points. 3000 points is £30 in Tesco Vouchers which is £120 in Clubcard deals. Or if you are just interested in getting your bill reduced, some of these codes can save you up to £15 on a £100 shop.

Use the codes by ordering your Tesco groceries on-line via
www.tesco.com. You will need to create an account first before you start your order.

Once you have finished your order, you will be asked to enter any Tesco codes that you have, but you can only use one code per order. The Tesco web site will then tell you if the code is valid and how many points you have gained on your clubcard.

1000 points is worth £10 voucher or £40 in clubcard deal tokens. These vouchers are sent out every 3 months. You can then use these vouchers in-store, on-line or exchange them for Tesco Deal Tokens worth 4 times the Tesco voucher. So £10 becomes £40 in Tesco Deals. Full instructions are sent with the vouchers and Deal tokens.
You can only use these codes once BUT other adult members of your house can have their own Tesco clubcard account and use the codes themselves. So any code can be used more than once per household.

If you tend to order more than 5 bottles of wine with your groceries try ordering your wine from Tesco Wine online shop instead. This will allow you to use some of the fantastic wine offers of 1500 point for a £50 spend or £15 off a £50 shop at Tesco online wine shop.

NTL/Telewest 2MB Broadband and Phone line including free landline calls for £20.50

Have you seen the adverts for Talk Talk, Free broadband just pay for line rental and the phone package, which comes to £21 a month? Well I decided to go for this as it would reduce my monthly bill by £9 and I would get free phone calls saving me another £15. I called BT to arrange reconnection and asked for a 3 month contract. You need a BT line before you can transfer over to Talk Talk..

Important: If you really want to switch to Talk Talk then please note that you have to purchase the Line rental from Talk Talk and not BT for the Free Broadband offer. Also NTL will know you are serious about leaving and using Talk Talk if you have taken out a 3 month contract with BT and not 12 months. Otherwise you will have to wait 1 year before you could get the Talk Talk Free Broadband offer.

The following day I get a call from NTL asking why I was leaving. I told them I was going to Talk Talk and explained that their current NTL package for Broadband and Phone was going to cost me at least £200 more than Talk Talk offer. After a few minutes I was offered 2MB Broadband + Phone + their Talk Unlimited 24 Package for just £20.50 a month for 6 months.

Which I of course agreed to.

If you don’t get a call from NTL within a day or two and you want to stay with them, then you can call BT and cancel the reconnection. Also give NTL a call to make sure that they know you are staying. Otherwise you may end up without a phone or broadband.
So a saving of at least £200 for a 10 minute call to BT and NTL. Can’t be bad.

Quick Method

If you still can’t be bothered, then try this, if you have been with your cable company for at least 1 year, call your cable company and say that you wish to cancel your phone and broadband as you are going to use Talk Talk. They should put you through to their Retention department and you should be offered Broadband, Phone and unlimited calls for £20.50 a month. You may even get a broadband speed increase if you try hard enough and a free wireless router. This has been used by all of my work mates that have NTL and they have been given this offer.

Sky offer

Free Sky+ Box and installation

There is no guarantee that this will work but I’m sure you will get a great offer.

In the beginning SKY tried to sign up as many viewers as possible to pay for their initial costs but that was over 15 years ago. Now it’s harder than ever to get new customers which means retaining existing customers is there number one priority.

The first thing you need to do is contact Sky’s customer service, you can pay up to £1 a minute on 08702 404040 so suggest you use this free phone number instead, which is 0800 731 6965.
There are numerous offers available from sky, the best ones currently are

1) Free Sky+ box and installation (saving £159)
2) 6 months half price of your normal subscription (possible saving of £126) but you can call back after 6 months and get this again and again.

These offers depend on the person you speak to at Sky’s customer services, some will try and give away nothing and you will have to fight tooth and nail to get anything (If you get one of these then I suggest you say “Thanks, I will have to think about this” and call back another time).

Then you get others who will gladly tell you what offers are available and recommend the best one for you.

A lot of this is down to the story you tell them and if they really believe you had enough of paying SKY’s high subscriptions rates and are going to leave if you don’t get a good offer.

It is possible to get both offers, especially if you are a returning customer; you just need to say “Best Offers 1”. Sometimes existing SKY customers can get both offers as well.

Top Tip – If you really hate phoning customer services and asking for a deal, I suggest you get somebody else to call for you instead. Make sure they have your personal details and account number so they can answer any questions they may get asked.

Here is what you need to say.

1) I hardly get a chance to see TV nowadays as I’m so busy and I was thinking about getting Freeview instead, are there any offers available otherwise I would like to cancel my subscription.

2) I was thinking of getting SKY+ but I have just been made redundant, are there any special offers available?

3) I would like to cancel as I’m now working shifts and unable to see most of the programs I like on sky. Can you offer me a deal? I’d much prefer to stick with you!

Remember if you are not successful at first, then call back later.

I have listed below some more offers available from sky which other people have found. These have been obtained from a web forum and isn't from my own personal experience.

Excellent Sky Offers obtained by sky subscribers

I recently joined sky and got a great offer. I hope this helps you get a similar great offer or better.

The offer I got
6 months 1/2 price Sky World (All 6 mixes, Sky Sports & Sky Movies)
Free reconditioned Sky+ Box, free 12 months warranty & free install
£10 Credit (pricematch to the online credit) - I had to ask for this
Share £50 of M&S VouchersAs a sky customer recommend a friend and get £50 of M&S vouchers.

Best deal

This is the best deal I have come across. Simply quote "Best offers 1" when you ring up. It gives you:
1/2 price sky for 6 months (50% off)
Free reconditioned sky plus box, free 12 month warranty & free install
£10 Credit (pricematch to the online credit) You must ask for this!
This offer was intented for returning customers. I got it as a new customer so try your luck.

Otherwise take 2nd best deal.

2nd Best Deal
Second best deal I have come across. Quote: "CD WOW".
5 months 1/2 price & £35 CD WOW voucher to use at http://www.cd-wow.com/.
Free sky box & free install
Sky plus £99 or £49 if you ask for a reconditioned box. £60 installation charge. Possibly free with reconditioned.

Sky plus £99 & £60 installation or £49 with mutiroom (Free 2nd box + £10 multiroom subscription)

Sky Broadband
BASE Up to 2Meg - Free (£20 activation fee) (2GB Usage Allowance)
MID Up to 8Meg - £5 (£20 activation fee) (40GB Usage Allowance)
MAX Up to 16Meg - £10 (No activation fee) (Unlimited)
12 month contract applies I recommend MAX because of the no installation fee and fastest speed.Free wireless modem/ router on all packages saving about £50!Sky Talk
£5 for unlimited calling of landline numbers.
Great rates to mobiles.

Line rental still payable to BT.Cheaper alternative to MultiroomTV Link costs around £40. It's a simple wire running from your sky box to another tv. Available from sky themselves and your engineer. Shows only the channel your box is set to unlike multiroom where you can watch different satellite channels at the same time.

Ensure they realise you’ve the opportunity to shift to a more competitive package elsewhere, such as Homechoice, which is rolling out in many areas and is very price competitive or Freeview; yet give them a hope with “can you offer me a deal? I’d much prefer to stick with you”. If they’re not willing to play ball, the powerhouse maneouvre is threatening to leave. Remember the departments we think of as ‘disconnections’ are often internally named ‘customer retention’ as that’s their business aim, thus they’ve much wider discretion to give better deals than main customer services, as ultimately their job is to keep your custom. “I rang NTL as I was being charged £38 month for Broadband, TV and phone before call charges. I mentioned a family member had signed up to all three for only £30 a month. It immediately reduced my broadband costs by £10 a month, saving £120 a year.”

Don’t be ruled by pride

Remember this is a haggling not a leaving exercise. One danger is you posture leaving, they don’t improve the offer, and you feel embarrassed into actually leaving. Don’t do this. Buy time to reconsider by saying “right I’ll think about this and get back to you”.

Utility Bills

Look at this web site link to see how you can cut your utility bills
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/utilities . If you have never switched and are still with British Gas and your normal electric supplier then you are certain to save over £200 per year because you will still be on their most expensive Tariff.

Remember most of these tips only involve filling in a form on a website or a 10 min phone call and you could easily save hundreds of £££££'s every year.

Car Insurance

The AA car insurance site can give you a good quote, but if you have over 4 Years NCD then try http://www.esure.com/ or http://www.privilege.com/ and you should be able to save another 15% or even more. Also for some strange reason, if you add your wife to your car insurance policy as another driver, you actually get a discount. Doesn't make sense to me but a good way of saving approx £70. Of course if you add your 18 year old son/daughter then expect to pay more.

Check out http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/ for further info

Cheap Travel Insurance

Excellent web site which promises to give you free travel insurance if you can buy it cheaper anywhere else, now that's what I call an offer. A lot better than we will match the price if you find the same cheaper.

Recently used for 1 week Europeon Trip for 2 Adults and 2 children – cost £15.50
Tesco Travel Insurance quoted £40.25 for the same level of cover

If you want a new laptop/PC but don’t want to pay the full price, then look at Dell’s outlet store and save upto 40% of their normal RRP. It could save you hundreds of ££££££££££’s
Dell Outlet is a division of Dell Products, selling refurbished computer equipment. This is product, which has been returned to Dell for a variety of reasons including cancellation and specification changes.

Other Discounts and offers

The web sites listed below contain nearly all of the discounts you have purchased and loads more info on how to earn/save some extra cash.

The Money Saving Expert site has the most information available but it can be hard to find what you need as the information is supplied by the public and used in the Forum section.

Go to Forum discussion group and in the search area type in the name of the store/business you would like a discount for. Go to the last page for the most recent offers. If you ever come across a web site asking for a code, try this web site and enter the name into the forum search. You might be very surprised by how much discount you can get just by typing in a code.
